Computer Cougar – Rough Notes on High Stress

Computer Cougar – Rough Notes on High Stress (Gern Blandstern Records) 2001. So here is the other influential release by Nick Forte. Computer Cougar was the band he was in before he met Ross Totino and formed Beautiful Skin. This one has a more punk rock approach. The guitars are much more prominent but don’t let that fool you into thinking this is straight aggro music. What Computer Cougar was doing was just as post-punk as Beautiful Skin, just more guitar based. Where Beautiful Skin channelled the spirit of the Normal and the Units, Computer Cougar channels Modern Dance era Pere Ubu. On 8 Month Fantasy, there is also a pretty strong similarity to The Endtables. Is this intentional? I don’t know. I just report the news.

This is another one that you can find ridiculously cheap. Why not buy a copy?
