Uncalled 4 – Cotton Fields / Grind Her Up

Uncalled 4 – Cotton Fields // Grind Her Up (Tiger Tail Records) 1979/1985. One of the greatest “scam” records ever in history. The Uncalled 4 played a kind of Texas version of herky jerky New Wave that just slays me every time. Apparently, they also had a pretty good sense of humour. The “band” pictured on the cover is not really the Uncalled 4. It is actually a photo of The Texarkana Math Club. Not only that, but the label of the record says that this was released in 1979 when really it was released in 1985. It says it was recorded in Waco, Texas. It wasn’t. The whole great story is available to read at Break My Face. The reason behind all of the lies and misinformation is brilliant and involves preying on kbd record collector scum! Ahhhhh a band after my own heart. If by the way, you cannot afford the original 45 (you kbd collector scum, you), this along with a lot of other good shite is available on the Deep In The Throat of Texas compilation.
